Where the music all began

 In 1962 the Burlington Chapter Chorus was started. The barbershop chorus was chartered in the Land O Lakes district of the Barbershop Harmony Society in June of 1975.  The name was changed to Lake Area Country Gentlemen to include men from surrounding areas  such as Racine, Kenosha, Lake Geneva, and northern Illinois neighborhoods such as Richmond IL and McHenry IL.   In 1976 the chorus met at the Burlington Savings & Loan and Mays Insurance buildings where they continued to sing acapella 4-part harmony music.
